A Day of Paving with Black Earth Pavement: Seven Residential Driveway Paving Projects in One Day
At Black Earth Pavement, we take pride in offering top-notch residential driveway paving services that transform driveways and enhance the curb appeal of homes. Recently, our dedicated crew completed a series of residential driveway paving projects in a single day, showcasing our commitment to quality and efficiency. In this blog post, we’ll take you through the route our team took, along with details and before-and-after images of each asphalt paving job.
The Journey Begins
Our day started early, with the crew assembling at our headquarters, ready to tackle the busy schedule ahead. Equipped with all necessary tools and materials, they set off to the first location to provide professional paving services.
Project 1: Paving – Remove & Replace
Location: Dousman, WI
Size: 10,279 sq ft
Material Type: Grade 5
Asphalt Used: 180 ton
Job Description: This customer needed a complete overhaul of their cracked and worn-out driveway. Our prep crew was here a couple days in advance to excavate and remove all the old pavement and lay down a new stable base course.
Then, for our first paving job for the day we applied fresh asphalt, giving the driveway a smooth, new look. Our paving services ensured a long lasting, durable and visually appealing finish.
Project 2: Paving – Remove & Replace
Location: Oconomowoc, WI
Size: 1,510 sq ft
Material Type: Grade 5
Asphalt Used: 44 ton
Job Description: For our second project of the day, we moved from a long residential driveway to commercial parking lot. The task was to remove the failed entrance and cut out a 6′ x 6′ patch on the second entrance. This involved saw cutting straight clean edges, removing the failed asphalt, then adding stone and compacting it for strong stable base.
Once that was completed, we put down the final 2″ lift on the entrance and compact for a second time with our vibratory roller for a smooth, stable finish.
Project 3: Residential Paving – Driveway Approach
Location: Stone Bank, WI
Size: 530 sq ft
Material Type: Grade 5
Asphalt Used: 10 ton
Job Description: This customer has a long gravel driveway but wanted their entrance from the road to be paved in asphalt. Our paving crew showed up to a clean saw cut edge at the road thanks to our prep crew that was a couple days ahead of them. From there, our guys worked quickly to pave out to the road in two clean passes to provide this family with a beautiful paved driveway approach!
Project 4: Paving – Driveway Approach
Location: Oconomowoc, WI
Size: 520 sq ft
Material Type: Grade 5
Asphalt Used: 12 ton
Job Description: Driveway approaches were the name of the game for today’s schedule. This customer has a concrete driveway that was in need of a new asphalt approach. Our prep crew removed all of the old asphalt, make a clean saw cut at the road and regraded and compacted the approach earlier in the week so it was ready to go once the paving crew arrived. Once they arrived, they cleaned up the saw cut edge on the road and paved their way out.
Project 5: Paving – Remove & Replace
Location: Nashotah, WI
Size: 2,194 sq ft
Material Type: Grade 5
Asphalt Used: 44 ton
Job Description: Next up on the schedule for the day was a residential driveway which required a full removal and replacement. Our prep crew had everything removed, regraded to keep the water flowing away from the house and compacted the base for our paving crew to get right to work upon their arrival.
Even with tight tolerances with the grade, our experienced and expert crew was able to pave this beautiful new driveway for our customer to enhance the beauty and functionality of their property!
Project 6: Paving – Driveway Approach
Location: Hartland, WI
Size: 332 sq ft
Material Type: Grade 5
Asphalt Used: 15 ton
Job Description: As we mentioned, residential driveway approaches were the name of the game on this day for our crew. As the crew was making their way back to the shop, the locations for Project 6 and 7 made it convenient for our crews to knock out two jobs in nearly one stop. The homeowners for this job had a concrete driveway but were in need of a new asphalt approach. Now they have a beautiful transition from the road to their driveway!
Project 7: Paving – Driveway Approach
Location: Hartland, WI
Size: 334 sq ft
Material Type: Grade 5
Asphalt Used: 10 ton
Job Description: With Project 7 being only a few doors down from Project 6, our crew was able to finish the previous job and waste very little time getting right to work!
The Route
To efficiently complete these projects, our crew planned a strategic route. Starting from our shop, we made our way through Dousman, Oconomowoc, Stone Bank, Nashotah, Hartland, and finally back our home office. This route allowed us to minimize travel time and maximize working hours, demonstrating our efficiency as a paving company, and our ability accommodate all of our service throughout the season!
