Project Overview

For this featured paving project at Sunset Bowl, the customer required new concrete dumpster pads, a complete overhaul of the existing asphalt, and precise grading and paving to handle high traffic and weather conditions. Here’s how we handled each phase of this paving project:

Dumpster Pad Installation
The first step was installing two new concrete dumpster pads. Concrete was chosen for its ability to handle the heavy load and constant wear these areas endure. Our team ensured the pads were set to meet the demands of regular waste removal trucks, enhancing the parking lot’s functionality.

Asphalt Pulverization and Grading
Moving on to the parking lot, we pulverized the existing asphalt, which allowed us to repurpose it as a stable base layer. This process helps reduce waste while creating a solid foundation for the new asphalt. After pulverizing, we graded the entire lot to ensure proper drainage and a level, durable surface.

Two-Lift Asphalt Paving
With a stable base prepared, we applied two lifts of new asphalt. The first lift provides foundational strength, while the second lift smooths the surface for an even, polished look. This two-layer method makes the asphalt more resistant to cracks and general wear, especially under heavy use.

Line Striping
To complete the project, we added fresh line striping, improving navigation and safety for drivers and pedestrians. Clear striping also ensures compliance with accessibility and parking regulations, finishing off the Sunset paving project with professional precision.
